n 2009, the United States Department of the Treasury submitted the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA) Act of 2009 to Congress, proposing a sweeping overhaul of consumer financial regulation. Congress has wrestled with the Administration’s proposal in the ensuing months.
